Ron Restrepo
Senior Director of Soccer Programs
U7, U8 & U9 Boys Head Coach

Coach Ron is a Colombian native and has lived in the USA for most of his life. He grew up in New York City where he attended the Art & Design High School and City College.

In previous years, coach Ron has played for Yonkers United, Riverdale youth soccer league, City College Div. 3 and various other leagues in the city as well as other teams in the Men’s Cosmopolitan Soccer league.

For the past 2 decades he has worked as a coach for multiple soccer programs and maintains his passion and focus on developing players of all ages. From the amateur, recreational, semi-pro, competitive youth club to the collegiate level, coaching in different levels has helped him understand the demands of the modern game.

Coach Ron finds his motivation and passion by educating players about the sport, providing all the knowledge and resources to help young and old athletes reach their highest potential. His goal is to guide the players by showing them multiple options in their game and allowing them to the make choices that would showcase success, having love for the game and displaying it on the field.

Stephen Hoogerwerf
Director of Coaching
U16, U17, U19 Boys Head Coach

Stephen is from New Orleans, where he began playing soccer at age seven and chased the ball all around the country only to finish up back home with the USISL, New Orleans Storm. He made PDL stops at Cocoa Expos and Pikes Peak Stampede during summer break while attending William Carey College in Mississippi. At Carey, he was an NAIA All-American and competed in three National Championships. The team’s record and ranking remained in the NAIA’s top five during his time there.

New Orleans Soccer Academy was his entry into coaching. He led his team to back to back State Cups before moving to New York in 2000 to complete his Bachelors in Sports Science from LIU Brooklyn. He served as an Assistant Coach with the Blackbirds for several years and then journeyed off to Colorado for coaching positions with CU Boulder and Colorado Storm Soccer Association. He returned to Brooklyn in 2010 and joined Super Soccer Stars as a coach instructor. Since then he has enjoyed supportive roles with NY Cosmos and NYCFC. Most recently he was a staff coach with Manhattan SC and has coached with other club’s including Met Oval and Manhattan Kickers.

Stephen currently coaches the varsity program at Collegiate School. He and his partner Chaneve reside in Fort Greene.

Ayo Obisesan
Youth Class Director
U11 & U12 Boys Head Coach

Ayo was born and raised in Southern western Nigeria. He began his playing soccer at age 3 and played competitively between the ages of 10 and 18. As a junior player he was part of his team from Nigeria that participated in Dana cup in Denmark and Gothia cup in Sweden in the early nineties. Ayo was invited to the Nigerian Under 16 national team but put his career on hold to attend college.

In 2002 he moved to the United states and obtained his USSF National D coaching License and was employed as an assistant coach at Chelsea piers. Ayo is also a National referee and a member of the Professional Referee Organization in the U.S and worked games at various level such as PDL, USL PRO, D2, US Open Cup ,MLS teams and international Champions cup and international club friendlies featuring Real Madrid of Spain, Celtic FC of Scoltland, Everton FC of England, Chelsea FC of England, and AS Roma of Italy, to mention a few. Ayo is also a national referee with intercollegiate soccer officials handling NCAA games in the U.S. In 2013 Ayo ran a soccer clinic at Chelsea piers with Edison Arantes do Nascimento (PELE).
Ayo has used his position at various levels to develop young players starting from age 2 to travel soccer at a higher level.

Brandon Turner
Director of Club Development
U10, U13 & U14 Boys Head Coach

Coach Brandon’s passion for the game of soccer goes back to the age of 3. Growing up in Bay Shore, Long Island he is excited to have the opportunity to continue following his passion coaching at Chelsea Piers. Attending Bay Shore High School, Brandon was a two-time All-Conference selection and earned All-County honors as team captain his senior year. He played travel soccer for Massapequa Aces, winning the 2009 ENY State Cup championship.

Coach Brandon continued his career playing at Lafayette College in PA., where he earned a First-Team All-Patriot League Selection alongside a Third-Team All-Mid-Atlantic Selection. Brandon won a Patriot League Championship with Lafayette and had the opportunity to play in the NCAA Championship Tournament. Here he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Economics. After Lafayette, Coach Brandon joined an International Academic Soccer Academy (IASA) giving him the opportunity to study in Leeds, England receiving his MBA degree, alongside continuing to play soccer for the IASA/Bradford City Reserves. While in Leeds Brandon received his FA Level 2 Coaching Certificate, coaching throughout all ages from 4-25 year olds. Not only is soccer one of Coach Brandon’s passions but giving back to the community is as well. While attending Lafayette Brandon, alongside his teammates, self-started a non-profit organization called Athlete’s C.A.R.E. (Creating Abundant Relief Effort). Athletes C.A.R.E. is a growing organization of like-minded athletes, who provide unique, athletics-related service opportunities that support residents of communities in need. The mission of Athletes C.A.R.E. is to use athletics to make a lasting impact on the lives of others. Providing assistance and support to the needy, hungry, and homeless.

Coach Brandon is excited and eager to continue giving back to the community through athletics now being a coach at Chelsea Piers with a like-minded staff.

Denise Wilson
Girls Director
U7-U11 Girls Head Coach

Coach Denise is born Jamaican and has been living in the USA for more than a decade. Daughter to a military man, she grew up traveling and living in many places where soccer
became a foundation for life and living. In her earlier year, Denise learned how to play soccer on the streets of Jamaica and with confidence was able to play for Wolmer’s High School for girls. She moved to USA for her High school years where she played Varsity all four years and captained the squad 3 of those four years. During this time Denise was also a member of West Pines SC for two years and Weston Fury for 2 years where she was awarded a soccer scholarship to play for Louisiana Tech University Div 1. At the end of her college career Denise made it to the last round of tryouts for Sky Blue FC (NWSL). She currently plays with the NY Shamrocks Women’s team in the NYMWSL when she’s not coaching.

Denise has been a coach for many years. It started with her volunteering with her youth head coach at the time Patty Barney asking her to work with the kids as a way of giving back. Having a growth mindset Denise has worked with as young as 2 years of age up to 18 years of age.  She joins the CP team after leaving a 6 year journey with the NY Red Bulls training program where she was a youth coach and camp director.

Coach Denise appreciates being a teacher of this beautiful sport and is happy she is able to share her soccer journey with families that crosses her path.

Julien Bouguennec
High School Teams
Assistant Coach

Julien Bouguennec grew up playing in the streets of the lower east side before joining his downtown local club, Manhattan Kickers. Always searching to play at the highest level, Julien left Kickers to play under Luis Mendoza at TSF academy in New Jersey. Through TSF, Julien was able to travel the globe and compete against the likes of Real Madrid, Sevilla, Botafogo, and Fluminense.

At 15, Julien was offered a spot at Albertson pre academy on the U18 squad. Practicing with the older players enhanced Julien's technique and speed of play. He was eventually noticed in Long Island by Italian scout and ex-player Ciccio Graziani. Ciccio brought Julien to ACF Fiorentina, AS Roma, and the Viareggio tournament where he ended up staying for several months.

Back in New York City, Julien wanted to work in soccer. He joined Nowhere FC, a downtown based soccer collective, however still wanted to coach and involve himself in the development of youth players in NYC. Having played for Stephen Hoogerwerf (Director of Coaching) at the U10 level, Coach Stephen brought Julien in as a coach at the U19 level.

Colin started his coaching journey at 18 years old, volunteering to coach in his boyhood club's house league. While enrolled at Bucknell University, he volunteered through AmeriCorps to provide soccer clinics to young local athletes. Upon graduating, Colin earned his coaching license and underwent a mentorship working with the ENYSSA Olympic Development Program. Colin continues to spend his time coaching youth soccer. He has worked as a player evaluator, private skills trainer, and has worked with players of every age and ability. 


At CPSC, Colin works primarily with the high school program. He has over 10 years of experience coaching and holds a USSF National D.

Malik Krcic is from Saylorsburg, PA. He joined the CPSC staff in February of 2017. Malik graduated from Widener University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Education and Special Education where he also started on the men’s soccer team for all four years at center back. In high school, Malik was a three year starter at center mid and voted to the first team All-Conference Junior and Senior year. Also earning League MVP and All-State honors as a Senior. Malik played his club soccer at FC Revolution out of Reading, PA from 2006-2011.


As a kid, Malik was just playing soccer to be like his dad but after he scored his first goal, it was history from then on. Soccer has become a lifestyle for Malik, and he wouldn’t want to have it any other way.

Barry Reeves hails from Dublin, Ireland. A schoolboy international soccer player for the Republic of Ireland. 

Came to New York in the early nineties on a soccer scholarship to Dominican College in upstate New York. He earned All-American honors while playing at Dominican. Upon graduation he continued on as a coach at Dominican College. 

Barry has been coaching Soccer at Chelsea piers for almost twenty years. 

Born and raised in NYC, Ibrahim has seen soccer grow constantly over the years. Playing club soccer in Riverdale helped expand his love for the game, and his understanding that it takes more than just skill to be a great player.


Ibrahim always finds himself learning from his fellow coaches and players ways to help players hone their strengths and weaknesses, as he recognizes there’s always room for improvement. As a coach, he wants to help players develop their skills, but also to help build great character. His biggest goals are to create more local based talent, to give players a platform to express themselves, to reach for the stars, and to realise that hard work and dedication are needed to succeed in all aspects of life.

Adult League Director

William grew up in Buga- Valle del Cauca, Colombia and the passion for soccer has always been present.  He Moved to the United States when he was 17 years old to go to college and continue his career with the game he loves; soccer. William played for NY Kosmos FC and FC Harlem before attending college.  He graduated from the Borough of Manhattan Community College and played two years with there. He earned a place in the 2014 CUNY final and CUNY first team awards in both seasons.  He transferred to Baruch college to continue to pursue his bachelors degree in business administration.  After one semester he went to finish his college and playing career with Farmingdale State College where Ihe earned a GPA of 3.7 and second team all regional and honor roll awards in both 2017 and 2018 seasons.  In addition to earning his degree in business administration, he has a minor in sports management while earning presidents list honors his last year of school.


William has been working at Chelsea piers as an assistant coach since 2012. Between coaching and playing college level, he has accumulated valuable experience and knowledge that he would like to give to students and future players.  Thanks to his experience at Chelsea Piers and as a part of the NYCFC game operations crew, he has more insight of the game from a professional aspect. 


Now, after being in the game for so long, he wants to transfer his passion and hopefully lead future high school and college players to being not only a good athletes and soccer players, but also great people.  The key to being one of the best is discipline and respect, both of which are important for creating a path to success.

Kevin is currently in charge of the Chelsea Piers Adult Soccer League. Due to his vast experience in customer service, having previously worked in the hotel industry, he was quickly promoted to the Adult League Director role, despite only being at Chelsea Piers for one year. His strong work ethic and friendly personality allows him to successfully tackle the challenges of managing the league. Outside of work, Kevin is actively pursuing his law degree. He is also a lifelong Manchester United fan. Along with his role in managing the Adult Soccer League, Kevin will also be handling all CPSC payments.
